Books that Make You Say . . . Thanks
It's been a hard year, no doubt. But I bet if we all look at our lives, we can find something for which we are grateful. Teaching children the concept of gratefulness is hard. Literature that exposes them to people whose lives who have different, sometimes harder, challenges than theirs can help build empathy, and show them the things they might be grateful for in their lives.
I know this Thanksgiving, I'll be counting all of my blessings, even while I'm missing my family and friends. The Youth Services Team at CIDL counts you, our community, among one of those blessings. Thank you and have a wonderful and safe holiday. |
