Madame Pamplemousse and Her Incredible Edibles

Madeline, a young girl, is forced to work in her Uncle Lard’s restaurant, The Squealing Pig, every summer. She is forced to wash all the dishes and is forbidden from cooking. Madeline lives in fear of displeasing her uncle along with the kitchen staff. The Squealing Pig serves high priced disgusting food that only appeals to tourists as they are tricked into thinking the high prices mean quality food. One day the kitchen runs out of Mixed Innard Pâté, a favorite of Uncle Lards. Madeline ventures out through the streets of Paris trying to buy more before he finds out. She comes across a small, dark, and dingy shop. Madeline meets a strange woman who gives her a bottle that contains “Pâté of North Atlantic Sea Serpent with Green Peppercorn Mustard.” The restaurant guests that night rave about the new Pâté. The news spread and all of Paris wants to eat at the Squealing Pig. Uncle Lard uses everything in his power to get more of the special Pâté and find out the recipe. Madeline gets caught up in the mix, but will she betray her new friends at the shop or help out her despised uncle?
